Can I transfer money from my DBS PayLah! wallet to my DBS/POSB savings/current account?
Yes, you can transfer money from your DBS PayLah! wallet back to your linked DBS/POSB bank account. Simply tap on Menu > Send to My Account and enter the amount you want to transfer.
- How do I receive money from my friends?
i.For existing DBS PayLah! users, the money from senders will be credited instantly into your wallet.
ii.For non-existing DBS PayLah! users, the money will not be credited into your wallet until you register for DBS PayLah!.
Can I set a limit on my DBS PayLah! wallet?
Yes, you can set the wallet limit to a maximum of SGD 999 by tapping on Settings > Change max PayLah! Wallet Limit.
Note:
- If you set your wallet limit to SGD 0, all incoming funds will be automatically sent to your linked DBS/POSB bank account. You will also not be able to send money to others.
- If someone sends you an amount which exceeds your wallet limit, the excess amount will be automatically sent to your linked DBS/POSB bank account. You will see this automatic transfer of the excess amount as a Maxed-Out transaction in your Transaction History.
E.g. You have set your wallet limit as SGD 200. You transferred SGD 40 to your friend for a meal. The remaining wallet balance is now SGD 160. Your friend transfers SGD 100 to you for a gadget you helped him to buy. However, as the wallet limit is capped at SGD 200, the excess SGD 60 will be credited to your DBS/POSB savings/current account directly and the DBS PayLah! wallet will show a balance of SGD 200
Can I limit the amount I can transfer per day on my DBS PayLah! wallet?
Yes, you can set a daily transfer limit of SGD 100, SGD 200, SGD 500 or SGD 999 for your DBS PayLah! wallet. Tap on Settings > Daily Transfer Limit to do so. E.g. If you have set your daily transfer limit as SGD 100 but would like to send SGD 60 each to two different friends,. you will only be able to pay one friend in full as the total amount of SGD 120 is higher than your daily transfer limit.
How do I request a money transfer from a friend (Single Request)?
You can request a friend to transfer money to you by tapping on Request (on the Homepage) > Single, followed by entering your friend’s name (as stored in your contact list) or mobile number and the total amount that you wish to receive from your friend.
How do I request a money transfer from a group of friends (Group Request)?
You can request a group of friends (maximum 10) to transfer money to you by tapping on Request (on the Homepage) > Group, followed by adding your friends’ names (as stored in your contact list) or mobile numbers and the total amount that you wish to receive from the group. You can even choose to include your own share of the total amount by selecting the Include Myself option.
DBS PayLah! will automatically divide the total amount equally according to the number of persons included in your Group Request. You can edit the respective amounts to be requested from each individual in the group by tapping on any name in the group.
You can also choose to add a short message, a fun sticker and/or attach an image if you like.
Can I request a money transfer from someone who:
i.is not in my smartphone contact list?
Yes, you can. On the Request Money page, simply enter the requested party or parties’ Singapore registered 8-digit mobile number.
ii.does not have a Singapore registered mobile number?
No, you can only request money from someone who has a Singapore registered mobile number.
iii.has not downloaded and registered for DBS PayLah! yet?
Yes, you can. After you have sent the request, the requested party will receive an SMS alert to download and register the DBS PayLah! app within 14 calendar days to respond to your request.
What is the maximum amount that I can request for each request?
The maximum total amount that you can request for is S$999 per request transaction (applicable for both Single and Group Requests).
When I receive a request for money transfer from others:
i.How do I accept the request?
You can login to DBS PayLah! and click on Pending to view outstanding request(s) from others (which you have not responded to). You can view the details of each request by selecting the respective transaction and proceed to accept the request by tapping on Accept. This will trigger a Send Money transaction to the requester and it will be listed as Sent under the Completed tab in your Transaction History.
You have 14 calendar days to accept the request for money.
ii.How do I decline the money transfer request?
When you receive a request for money, you can view the details of each request by selecting the respective transaction and proceed to decline the request by tapping on Decline. Your friend will be notified of the decline via a push notification. You can also view the Declined transaction which is listed in grey under the Pending tab in your Transaction History.
You have 14 calendar days to decline the request for money.
What happens if I do not accept or decline the money transfer request after 14 calendar days?
The request from your friend will automatically expire after 14 calendar days but you can still view the Expired transaction which will be listed in grey under the Pending tab in your Transaction History.
Can I send reminder(s) to my friends to respond to my money transfer request?
Yes, you can. For each individual request transaction, you can send reminder(s) to your friend (in a Single Request) or friends (in a Group Request) who have yet to respond by tapping on Remind under the transaction details page.
Can I cancel a money transfer request after it has been sent?
Yes, you can. You can do so by tapping on Cancel under the transaction details page within 14 calendar days. You can still view the Cancelled transaction which will be listed in grey under the Pending tab in your Transaction History.
Can I pay my bills with DBS PayLah!?
Yes. You can pay your bills to selected Billing Organisations with our new Bill Payment function.
How do I make a Bill Payment?
You can make a Bill Payment by tapping on Send (on the Homepage) > Bill Payment, followed by entering or selecting the Billing Organisation and the amount that you wish to pay. You will be required to enter the Consumer Reference Number for the respective Billing Organisation before you submit your payment.
What is a Consumer Reference Number?
Your Consumer Reference Number is a reference number given by the Billing Organisation and it is usually stated on your bill. It is your responsibility to enter the correct Consumer Reference Number or your Bill Payment transaction might not be successful.
Can I maintain a list of Billing Organisations as my Favourites?
Yes. You can maintain a list of Billing Organisations (maximum 5) under your Favourites by selecting on “+ Favourite” on your confirmation receipt page after making a successful Bill Payment transaction. Alternatively, you can add or delete a Billing Organisation from your Favourites by tapping on Enter/Select Organisation > Favourites on the Bill Payment page.
Can I donate money to a Charitable Organisation with DBS PayLah!?
Yes. You can donate money to selected Charitable Organisations with our new Donation function.
How do I make a Donation?
You can make a Donation by tapping on Send (on the Homepage) > Donation, followed by entering or selecting the Charity and the amount that you wish to donate. You will be required to provide your Full Name and NRIC or FIN number which will be sent to the Charitable Organisation should the donation be tax deductible. Please note that not all donations are tax deductible, therefore it is your responsibility to check with the Charitable Organisation to determine whether the Charitable Organisation qualifies for tax deductions before making the donation.
What if I want to close my DBS/POSB savings/current account(s)?
Please inform the branch staff that you have a DBS PayLah! wallet when closing your DBS/POSB savings/current account(s). When you close your linked DBS/POSB savings/current account(s), the balance in the wallet will be refunded to you. Please note that DBS reserves the right to deal with the unclaimed amount if your wallet has not been used for a period of one year and if you have not given any instructions to DBS to close your wallet.
What if I decide to close my iBanking account?
Please inform the branch staff that you have a DBS PayLah! wallet when closing your DBS iBanking account. We will proceed to close your DBS PayLah! wallet and the remaining balance in the wallet will be refunded to the linked DBS/POSB savings/current account.
Do the credit balances in my DBS PayLah! wallet earn any interest?
No, the available credit balances in your DBS PayLah! wallet do not earn any interest.
